Obituary of Roger Mairs
Roger Mairs, 84, of Acme, passed away May 2, 2018 at Whatcom Hospice House, Bellingham WA. He was born in Quebec, Canada the son of Arlington & Hazel Mairs. Known as an expert in the industry, Roger began working as a mushroom farmer as a teenager at Slacks Mushrooms (Quebec), Great Lakes Mushrooms (Michigan). He came to Washington in 1971 where he worked for Ostrom’s & Mt. Baker Mushrooms before owning/operating Twin Sister’s Mushroom Farm in Acme. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, golfing, racquetball and his time at the casino. He is survived by his children Tracy (Mark) Gregorius of Tacoma, Diane (Dan) Anderson of Edgewood, Robin (Shannon) Mairs of Puyallup, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
