Obituary of Thomas Allen
Thomas C Allen (born Chris Steinman), age 54, passed away in Bellingham, WA on Wednesday April 12th. The cause of death was a heart attack.
Born September 16th 1963 in Phoniex, Arizona, to Carolyn Steinman (Gunn), he attended Flagstaff High School and graduated in 1981. Thomas joined the Navy in 1983 attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class before transferring to the Coast Guard where he attained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.
He lived in Long Beach where he continued to work for the Coast Guard until he was put in inactive medical leave due to an increased number of health issues. In fall of 2014 Tom moved to Bellingham where he spent the last three years enjoying life with his two house mates (Paul and Mary Tice) and all their fur babies.
Thomas will be especially remembered for his service to our country as well as his heart of gold. Tom was known for his willingness to help others, his sense of humor and dependability.
Tom enjoyed nature, antique restoration, gardening and photography. He had recently gotten into Ameture Radio and was looking forward to connecting with people from other parts of the world. One of Toms greatest love in life was the ocean.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Gunn (Arthur Gunn) of Lake Havasee, AZ and his sisters: Deborah Steinman and Tamera Bestal.
Services will be held at 1pm on Monday April 24th at Jerns Funeral Chapel located at: 800 E. Sunset Drive in Bellingham. Relatives and friends are welcome at 904 Nevada Sreet in Bellingham for an additional gathering.
